Appointment of Interim Chief Administrative Officer

June 26, 2024 – The Township of Adjala-Tosorontio is pleased to announce that Mr. Eric Wargel will be joining the Township as the Interim Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) to support Mayor, Council, and staff during the recruitment of the Township’s next CAO.

Mr. Wargel served as CAO for the Township from 2010 to his retirement in 2018. He started his employment with the Township in 1989 as the Chief Building Official/Water Systems Manager, and later filled more progressive roles such as Building Inspector/Deputy Chief Building Official, Public Works Superintendent, and Director of Public Works/Deputy CAO.

“We are fortunate to have a familiar and knowledgeable leader like Eric to guide the Township in the recruitment of a new CAO and provide stability during this transition. Eric’s 29 years of extensive experience in municipal roles within our Township will support in the advancement of our initiatives and continuity of operations,” states Mayor Scott W. Anderson.

Mr. Wargel will commence the Interim CAO role on July 2, 2024, and will assist the Township until the end of the recruitment process to ensure a stable and smooth transition in leadership.
