Structure Fire

May 10, 2024 – At approximately 1 a.m. the Adjala-Tosorontio Fire Department (ATFD) responded to a reported fire in the village of Colgan. Upon arrival ATFD crews reported three (3) unfinished structures on fire and set up in a defensive posture. With the help of New Tecumseth Fire-Rescue an aggressive defensive attack was initiated and brought the fire under control at 2:15 a.m. 

There was a total of fourteen (14) Fire Department vehicles and thirty-nine (39) total staff at the incident. No civilian or Firefighter injuries have been reported, the Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office has been consulted and will not be attending the scene. 

All fire crews have cleared the scene, and the property has been left in the care of OPP.

The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time, estimated loss is approximately 4 million dollars.
