Structure Fire - Orchid Crescent, Colgan

July 23, 2024 - At approximately 12:49 a.m. on July 23, 2024 the Adjala-Tosorontio Fire Department (ATFD) responded to a confirmed structure fire in the village of Colgan, on Orchid Crescent. Upon arrival crews identified a newly constructed home with heavy smoke and working fires on all three (3) levels. An aggressive fire attack was coordinated by ATFD firefighters with the help of New Tecumseth's Chief Heydon and New Tecumseth Fire and Emergency Services to bring the fire under control quickly. 

In total seven (7) vehicles from ATFD responded, along with two (2) vehicles from New Tecumseth Fire, and twenty-five (25) firefighters. OPP and Simcoe EMS were also on scene. 

The fire is under investigation by the Nottawasaga detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police, with an estimated dollar loss valued at $350,000.
