Structure Fire - Marigold Boulevard, Colgan

September 30, 2024 - At approximately 2:30 a.m. on September 29, 2024 the Adjala-Tosorontio Fire Department (ATFD) responded to a confirmed structure fire in the village of Colgan, on Marigold Boulevard. Upon arrival crews identified a newly constructed home with heavy smoke and working fires on both levels of the home. A defensive fire attack was coordinated by ATFD firefighters with the help of New Tecumseth's Chief Heydon and New Tecumseth Fire and Emergency Services to bring the fire under control quickly.

In total twenty-six (26) firefighters responded with nine (9) apparatus from the ATFD and an aerial apparatus from New Tecumseth.  OPP and Simcoe EMS were also on scene.

The fire is under investigation by the Nottawasaga detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police, with an estimated dollar loss valued at $2,000,000. The home was unoccupied at the time and there were no reported injuries.
