$488,431 Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund Allocation to Build Infrastructure
(October 18, 2024, Adjala-Tosorontio ON) On October 16, 2024, Brian Saunderson, MPP for Simcoe-Grey met with Township Mayor Scott W. Anderson to announce that the Ontario government is investing $488,431 in the Township of Adjala-Tosorontio to renew and rehabilitate infrastructure within the Township.
“Supporting small and rural communities like Adjala-Tosorontio is vital. That includes providing sustainable infrastructure to manage and sustain growth,” said Brian Saunderson, MPP for Simcoe-Grey. “The Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund allows for significant investment in these new projects while also improving and updating aging and critical infrastructure.”
The funding is being provided through the 2025 Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund (OCIF) which provides funding for infrastructure projects in municipalities with populations under 100,000, rural and northern municipalities, as well as for Local Services Boards that own water or wastewater systems. Funding allocations are based on a formula that accounts for the different needs and economic conditions of each community.
“The Township of Adjala-Tosorontio welcomes the infrastructure funding support provided through the OCIF,” said Scott W. Anderson, Mayor, Township of Adjala-Tosorontio. “The funds will be allocated to various infrastructure projects in the 2025 Capital Budget and will assist in our continued efforts to improve and renew core infrastructure throughout the Township.”
A 2025 Capital Budget Meeting is being held on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at 1 p.m. in the Council Chamber located at 7855 Sideroad 30, Alliston, ON.
