$498,200 Community Building Fund Grant Enabling Haley Park Revitalization

LORETTO, ON – On Friday, local MPP Brian Saunderson met with staff and Township Mayor Scott W. Anderson to break ground on the Haley Park Revitalization project, thanks in part to the Township receiving a $498,200 Community Building Fund Capital stream grant from the Government of Ontario and the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) in late 2021. The project will include an accessible baseball diamond, playground, enhanced parking facility and landscaping.

“The Haley Park Revitalization Project is a great example of a municipally lead project to enhance existing infrastructure to be accessible and inclusive with upgraded and new facilities,” said Brian Saunderson, MPP for Simcoe-Grey. “Congratulations to Mayor Anderson, Town Council and staff on this initiative and on receiving this significant grant to improve their community. I look forward to visiting Haley Park when the work is completed.”

The park is centrally located in the hamlet of Loretto and is anticipated to be used by multiple organizations and residents. Thanks to the $498,200 Community Building Fund grant, people of all abilities will be able to access and enjoy the baseball diamond and playground located at Haley Park.

“The Township of Adjala-Tosorontio is grateful for the support from the OTF in recognizing the value this project will provide to residents and community wellbeing,” said Scott W. Anderson, Mayor, Township of Adjala-Tosorontio. “The accessibility improvements of this community space for activities around baseball, soccer, playgrounds, and parking, assist our continued efforts to enhance the quality of life in the Township.”

The Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF), an agency of the Government of Ontario, and one of Canada’s leading granting foundations celebrates 40 years of grant-making in Ontario and making a lasting impact in communities. Last year, OTF invested over $110M into 1,022 community projects and partnerships, which included funding for the Government of Ontario’s Community Building Fund. Visit otf.ca to learn more.
