The Township of Adjala-Tosorontio is looking for Coordinators and Volunteers to operate the Community Outdoor Ice Rink Program for the 2023-2024 winter season.

Skating is a favourite pastime for many of our residents, and we need your help to provide outdoor skating opportunities this winter!

We’re looking for volunteers to support our Community Outdoor Rink Program at various locations throughout the Township. Each rink will have a Coordinator and a group of volunteers responsible for maintaining the ice surface and communicating with a Township appointed liaison on the status of the rink throughout the season.

Some of the duties of a Coordinator include:

• To co-ordinate all of the volunteers appointed to a given rink;
• Act as a liaison between the Township and other coordinators/volunteers;
• Available to act as the contact person for any Township or public inquiries or emergencies; and
• Provide Outdoor Ice Rink maintenance training to volunteers, and ensure procedures are followed.

Some of the duties of a Volunteer Include:

• Attend Outdoor Ice Rink maintenance training; and
• Inspect and maintain the ice surface in a safe and operable condition.

All Coordinators and Volunteers must agree to, sign, and abide by the terms of the according agreement with the Township. Any individuals found to not be in compliance with the agreement will be removed from their position.
