Become an Election Official

Applications are now closed. Thank you for your interest in working the 2026 Municipal Election.

To support the 2026 Municipal and School Board Election, the Township of Adjala-Tosorontio requires a team of elections officials! Election Officials play an important role in supporting the democratic process, assisting voters and engaging with the public during an important municipal process. We encourage interested individuals to apply to be part of the team that helps the community cast their vote!

Eligibility

To be eligible to become an Election Official, you must:

  • Be a Canadian Citizen;
  • Be at least 18 years old;
  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada;
  • Not be a Candidate or Registered Third Party;
  • Not be an immediate family member of a Candidate; and
  • Not be actively working to support or oppose a Candidate in the Election.

Positions

Reporting to the Voter Help Centre Supervisor, the Greeter is the first point of contact for electors visiting the Voter Help Centre. The Greeter welcomes electors, provides general election information, directs them to the appropriate service, and helps ensure an efficient and accessible customer experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Welcomes electors and provides courteous, professional customer service.
  • Directs electors to appropriate election official based on their needs.
  • Answers general questions regarding the election process and Voter Help Centre services.
  • Monitors waiting areas and assists with the orderly flow of electors.
  • Maintains the confidentiality and integrity of the election process.
  • Reports concerns or operational issues to the Voter Help Cente Supervisor.
  • Attends all mandatory training sessions.
  • Performs other election-related duties as assigned.

Pay: $23.00/hour + 4% vacation pay

Reporting to the Voter Help Centre Supervisor, the Revision Clerk assists electors with updates to the Voters’ List and provides accurate information regarding the municipal election process. The Revision Clerk ensures revisions are completed accurately, confidentially, and in accordance with Municipal Elections Act, Township procedures, and direction of the Returning Officer.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists electors with applications to add, remove, or update information on the Voters’ List.
  • Reviews applications for completeness and verifies required identification and documentation.
  • Processes voter list revisions accurately using election management software and prescribed forms.
  • Responds to routine elector inquiries and refers complex issues to the Voter Help Centre Supervisor.
  • Maintains the confidentiality and security of elector information and election records.
  • Attends all mandatory training sessions.
  • Ensures all work complies Municipal Elections Act, Township procedures, and election policies.
  • Performs other election-related duties as assigned.

Pay: $26.50/hour + 4% vacation pay
