External Works Agreement To Be Signed
Under the Provincial Build Homes Faster Act, and with approval from the Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT), the Township has signed the External Works Agreement related to the WWTP project marking another milestone in supporting growth while protecting municipal infrastructure.
What is an External Works Agreement?
An External Works Agreement governs infrastructure improvements outside the development site that are required to support new growth. These works typically occur within the municipal right-of-way and can include roads, water, and wastewater connections.
What residents should know
- All external works are completed at the developer’s cost, not at the expense of existing taxpayers
- Municipal standards, oversight, and inspections apply to all work
- The agreement ensures that roads and municipal services are properly constructed and restored once work is completed
Related work may include
- Access road reconstruction
- Limited pipe installation
This agreement helps ensure that growth is supported safely, efficiently, and responsibly, without placing undue pressure on existing municipal infrastructure.
More updates will be shared as the project continues on adjtos.ca/wwtp. Thank you for staying informed.
