Adjala-Tosorontio, ON – August 17, 2026 – The Township of Adjala-Tosorontio is pleased to announce the grand opening of its new pickleball courts at Dekker Street Park and Haley Park, marking one of the many park projects for 2026.

Residents, community members, media, and local dignitaries are invited to attend the official grand opening ceremonies on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Dekker Street Park.

The new courts represent an exciting addition to the Township’s recreational amenities and reflect the growing popularity of pickleball among residents of all ages, expanding opportunities for recreation, fitness, and community connection throughout Adjala-Tosorontio.

“Pickleball has quickly become one of the fastest-growing sports in Canada, and we are thrilled to bring this exciting recreational opportunity to our community,” said Adjala-Tosorontio Mayor, Scott W. Anderson. “These new courts provide a welcoming and accessible place for residents to stay active, meet new people, and enjoy time outdoors. This project demonstrates Councils  commitment to enhancing recreational facilities and investing in spaces that improve quality of life for our residents.”

The investment signals a renewed focus on recreational infrastructure, creating modern and accessible amenities that serve the needs of today’s residents while supporting future growth.
