We’d like to share an update with our community about upcoming work related to the new wastewater treatment plant and FarSight development where shown below.

The Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) is being partially funded by the Province through the Housing Enabling Water System Intake 2 Fund and the Health & Safety Water Stream Fund. To receive the combined approximately $63.9 million grant funding for the WWTP and other works, including the abandonment of the New Horizons WWTP the Township and Developer are under strict timelines.
The first step is to prepare the road access which will include the removal of trees and vegetation within the 6th Concession Right of Way. This initial work helps ensure the WWTP site can be accessed safely. It will also facilitate the installation of a sanitary forcemain to convey wastewater from the New Horizons Community to the new WWTP.
We understand that tree clearing can raise questions or concerns. Please be assured that:
- Clearing will be limited only to areas required for the project;
- All work will follow environmental guidelines, permits, and regulations;
- Measures will be taken to reduce impacts on the surrounding area.
During this time, residents may notice:
- Workers and equipment on site
- Some temporary noise during daytime working hours
This project is an important investment in long‑term environmental protection and reliable wastewater services for our growing community. We appreciate your patience and understanding as this work gets underway.
We will continue to provide updates as the project moves forward. An information webpage is being developed that will be located on the Township’s website.
